Head of the Department – Prof. Gaetano La Manna

The Head represents the Department and is responsible for providing direction, promoting initiatives, overseeing activities, and coordinating its scientific and teaching functions.

He chairs and convenes the Department Council and Executive Committee and ensures that their resolutions are implemented. He identifies needs and proposes the allocation of technical and administrative staff, as well as logistical, instrumental, and financial resources.

Deputy Director – Prof. Manuela Ferracin

The Deputy Head is appointed by the Head from among the tenured professors. She provides support to the Head and is authorised to sign documents on the Head’s behalf.
