Purpose:

With the closure of the School of Medicine and Surgery, the Department's Teaching Delegate has taken on the responsibilities formerly held by the School with regard to the coordination of degree programs and teaching innovation. The aim is to ensure quality and innovation in educational programs, responding to students' needs and improving learning processes.

Purpose: also in light of the findings from the ANVUR visit, consolidation of qualifying internships in the healthcare field within equal relationships between the University, Professional Orders and Healthcare Companies. The primary objective is to map the training network in order to integrate hospitals with territorial facilities, consolidating a model aimed at certifying the actual clinical skills acquired. To establish processes to qualify company tutors through dedicated training and monitoring pathways, to assess the opportunity to improve recording systems through a Digital Logbook-Diary (E-Portfolio) to monitor the student’s progress in real time. To consolidate advanced simulation activities to ensure patient safety before entry into the ward, in connection with the contact persons dedicated to innovative teaching.

Purpose: to support dialogue with the student component with attention to the needs that have emerged, to monitor problems and needs connected with academic life, facilitating institutional relations among its various components, assessing and supporting proposals for cultural and political initiatives, defined by the University and the Department, in favour of the student component; to support actions aimed at ensuring the effective enjoyment of the right to study, both in terms of access to university educational pathways and in terms of educational success.

Purpose: Starting from the collaboration with the Centre for Teaching and Learning (UNIBO), the Centre of Clinical and Surgical Experimental and Molecular Anatomy (DIBINEM), the Mannequin Room and the simulation laboratories of the Faenza Campus, the contact persons and the working group represent for the Department a point of connection and impetus aimed at offering students of the Degree Programmes, residents and PhD students advanced and safe training, aimed at improving educational quality, clinical autonomy and the attractiveness of the Department.

From a modern perspective, the group aims to launch and consolidate activities including clinical simulations, anatomical dissection and procedural training on cadavers, also in collaboration with DIMEVET for activities on animal models. The objectives concern the development of technical and non-technical skills in dedicated environments. The working group also supports applied research and the validation of new techniques in this field.

The working group also contributes, through proposals for the acquisition of equipment and the coordination of the use of the simulation room and mannequins, to the carrying out of teaching and training activities, collaborating with teachers in the planning and organization of practical exercises. Finally, it ensures the proper functioning of equipment and mannequins, reporting any malfunctions or maintenance needs.

Research

Purpose: To promote and coordinate the Department's research activities, encouraging national and international collaborations and ensuring a high level of scientific impact. The dual mandate is defined taking into account the necessary scientific, disciplinary, preclinical, and clinical correspondence and aggregation of the department.

Equity, Inclusion, Diversity, Female and Male Students with Disabilities and SLD

Purpose: The contact persons promote a departmental culture based on the principles of equity, inclusion, enhancement of diversity and equal opportunities, fostering initiatives aimed at improving accessibility, participation and well-being of the student community and staff, also through awareness-raising and training activities on inclusion issues.

In connection with University policies, the contact persons support and monitor initiatives aimed at guaranteeing the right to study and full participation in university life of female and male students with disabilities and with specific learning disorders (SLD). They also promote the dissemination of the culture of disability and SLD, fostering knowledge of the dedicated measures, services and opportunities.

The contact persons operate in collaboration with the Department Director, teaching and technical-administrative staff and the competent University structures, in order to monitor the effectiveness of the services provided, facilitate dialogue among the various components involved and contribute to the resolution of any critical issues, with a view to the continuous improvement of accessibility and the quality of the educational experience.

Open Science, Privacy, Data Management and Intellectual Property

Purpose: Open Science promotes the open dissemination and sharing of research results through the use of digital technologies, according to principles of transparency, reproducibility, integrity, equity and collaboration. It extends the concept of Open Access not only to publications, but also to data, methodologies and tools, fostering practices compliant with FAIR principles.

In the context of biomedical and clinical research, the Committee integrates these principles with compliance with personal data protection legislation (GDPR), with the ethical and secure management of data and with the protection and enhancement of intellectual property and research results, promoting a balance between openness, knowledge transfer and protection of innovation.

The Committee also promotes guidelines, good practices and awareness-raising initiatives on the topics of Open Science, data management, privacy and intellectual property, fostering a responsible, sustainable approach compliant with University policies and the principles of research integrity.

Interdepartmental Biomedical Tower Committee

Purpose: support for the Department in the planning, start-up and development of activities connected to the Biomedical Tower, as an integrated research infrastructure between the University and IRCCS.

Activities

Coordination, in agreement with the Vice Rector for Research and with the Delegate for biomedical research, of the planning activities preparatory to the start-up of the facility.

Identification and proposal of organizational and management models functional to the operation of the Biomedical Tower.

Planning of the inclusion of university activities and structures within the Tower.

Promotion and support for the development of collaboration pathways among the parties involved, also through the definition of operating methods for access to and use of research infrastructures and platforms.

Support for DIMEC in the definition and implementation of agreements and conventions between the University, IRCCS and the Departments involved.
