Teaching

Purpose: With the closure of the School of Medicine and Surgery, the Department's Teaching Delegate has taken on the responsibilities formerly held by the School with regard to the coordination of degree programs and teaching innovation. The aim is to ensure quality and innovation in educational programs, responding to students' needs and improving learning processes.

Delegates:

  • Prof. Fernando Rizzello acts as the Director's representative for degree courses in Nursing and Health Professions, with the aim of enhancing the professions and promoting career prospects consistent with the expectations of professionals, the evolution of specializations, and the new demands of the labor market.
  • Prof. Fabrizio De Ponti acts as a reference point for the quality system and functioning of teaching.

Interdepartmental Working Group on “Delivery/Interactive” Teaching

Purpose:

  • To support teachers and students in the transition to the NEW MEDICINE AND SURGERY CURRICULUM pursuant to Ministerial Decree 1649/2023 (2025/26)
  • To inform and train teachers of the 4 Medicine and Surgery courses interested in introducing delivery/interactive teaching (as approved by the Departments in December 2024)
  • To help students better integrate the knowledge acquired in the various disciplines, supporting greater awareness of the most appropriate study method for preparing for first-year exams
  • To provide an opportunity for reflection on the program covered in classroom teaching hours

Orientation Interdepartmental Guidance Committee

Purpose: To coordinate guidance activities between the two departments in order to provide students with more effective and targeted support upon entry and exit.

Interdepartmental Commission for the Evaluation of Teaching Assignments

Purpose: Following the closure of the School of Medicine and Surgery, the evaluation of teaching assignments is now managed by an interdepartmental commission (DIMEC/DIBINEM), with the aim of ensuring efficiency and transparency in the distribution of assignments.

Postgraduate schools

Purpose: To coordinate and improve the training activities of Specialization Schools, ensuring high-quality teaching in line with the guidelines set by the Regional Steering Committee and taking into account the regional agreement on specialization schools.

Purpose: To promote and coordinate the Department's research activities, encouraging national and international collaborations and ensuring a high level of scientific impact. The dual mandate is defined taking into account the necessary scientific, disciplinary, preclinical, and clinical correspondence and aggregation of the department.

Equity, inclusion, diversity

Purpose: The Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity Delegation aims to promote an inclusive university culture, encourage policies of equity and respect for diversity, improve accessibility and well-being, and support participation in awareness-raising and training initiatives on the subject. This commitment is intertwined with the Delegation for Students with Disabilities and SLDs, which aims to monitor and support initiatives concerning the integration of students with disabilities and SLDs by promoting awareness of the culture of disability and SLDs, including by promoting knowledge and dissemination of initiatives aimed at students; guaranteeing the right to study and equal opportunities for training, study, and research for individuals with disabilities and SLDs; monitoring the effectiveness of the services offered and mediating with the teaching staff, department representatives, and TA staff to verify the effectiveness of the services provided and resolve any problems encountered.

Purpose: To act as a direct reference point for the Director for the mapping, management, and allocation of spaces in relation to meeting the Department's priorities in terms of redefining the skills that require intervention in the reorganization of spaces.

Purpose: To promote responsible, secure, and transparent management of data produced and processed within the Department, in compliance with current legislation on the protection of personal data (GDPR and Privacy Code). The delegation aims to:

  • Promote the dissemination of a culture of data protection among teaching, research, technical-administrative staff, and students based on the University's guidelines on the subject
  • Coordinate data sharing initiatives in a manner consistent with the principles of Open Science, while ensuring the protection of sensitive data confidentiality.

Purpose: To implement innovative technologies for teaching and research.

Purpose: Open Science is a movement that aims to exploit the potential of digital technology and the internet to disseminate and share research results, particularly basic research, without barriers. It is based on the principles of transparency, reproducibility, inclusion, fairness, equity, and collaboration, with the aim of making research more sustainable, rigorous, and accountable. It seeks to extend the principle of Open Access not only to scientific publications, but also to methodologies, data, and research tools.
