Next week, the 8th Annual Conference of the Global Alliance of Medical Excellence (GAME) will be held in Melbourne, a key event for international collaboration in the medical field. Following the success of last year's 7th meeting, hosted in Bologna, GAME 2024 continues with a packed program of lectures and workshops featuring experts from around the world, with a particular focus on innovations in medical research and education.

The Department of Medical and Surgical Sciences will be represented by:
- Prof. Antonio Gangemi – Delegate for International Relations
- Prof. Fabrizio De Ponti – Delegate for Education and GAME Coordinator
- Prof. Gastone Castellani – Coordinator for a project on artificial intelligence within the Medicine and Surgery Degree Program
- Prof. Rocco Maurizio Zagari – Project Leader of the international online registry IOBER for Barrett's esophagus
Presentations by DIMEC Representatives
- Prof. Rocco Maurizio Zagari will participate in the GAME Satellite GI Cancer Symposium on November 6, presenting “Barrett's Esophagus as a Precursor of Esophageal Cancer” as part of the IOBER project.
- Prof. Fabrizio De Ponti will co-moderate the session “Reflections on Shaping the Future in Medical Education” on November 7, addressing the integration of robotic surgery in medical education.
- Prof. Antonio Gangemi will speak in the strategic session on the future of medical education, discussing opportunities for international collaboration in training on new technologies.
- Prof. Gastone Castellani will give a presentation on “Teaching AI for Medicine to Medical Students: The Bologna Experience,” showcasing the University of Bologna's approach to teaching artificial intelligence to medical students.
