The field of research in Women's and Children's Health focuses on protecting maternal, neonatal and paediatric health, integrating disciplines such as gynaecology, obstetrics, paediatrics, paediatric surgery and child neuropsychiatry. The activities, organised into research groups and innovative projects, range from prenatal diagnosis to the treatment of rare diseases, from paediatric oncology to childbirth technologies, to the prevention of violence against children. The aim is to improve the quality of care and develop new strategies for prevention, early diagnosis and personalised therapies in childhood and female reproductive health.

How research activities are organised

Dimec focuses its scientific research efforts in Research Study Centres (CSRs) established by resolution of the UNIBO Board of Directors. Research groups can carry out their research and study activities in the CSRs.
