Since 1996, Prof. Trevisani has been the coordinator and president of the non-profit scientific association ITA.LI.CA (Italian Liver Cancer), which brings together researchers from 27 Italian universities and hospitals. The aims of the Association are:

  • to collect epidemiological and clinical data on patients with hepatocellular carcinoma, observed since 1987 in affiliated centers, through an electronic database on the Progettoitalica website (http://www.progettoitalica.it)
  • formulating shared management strategy programs for this cancer
  • creating synergies for clinical trials
  • drafting scientific articles (as of July 2019: 56 full-length articles and 8 letters published in international peer-reviewed journals)
  • organizing scientific events
  • raising funds for projects and scholarships.
