SSD Diagnosis and Therapy of Lymphomas and Lymphoproliferative Syndromes

There are currently approximately 100 clinical trials and innovative therapeutic programs promoted directly by SSD. We are the main player in the scientific research for the cure of lymphomas and lymphoproliferative syndromes, and in medicine personalized to the individual patient.

Research areas

lymphomas and lymphoproliferative syndromes and personalized medicine.

We are currently involved in approximately 100 clinical trials and innovative, experimental, three-phase therapeutic programs—as well as observational studies—with medical devices and in vitro human tissue. SSD represents the coordinating center in a third of these; for some international studies, SSD is the only Italian center.

In addition, SSD pioneers its own clinical and observational studies as creator, promotor, and coordinator: essentially, we are the main player in the scientific research for the cure of lymphomas and lymphoproliferative syndromes, and in the perfection of medicine personalized to the individual patient.

The research results are then distributed through many channels, such as participation in national and international conferences as speakers, readers, and coordinators of sessions on lymphomas and lymphoproliferative syndromes. These occasions are also opportunities for continuous education. Professor Zinzani is the scientific sectretary and the promotor of international meetings and training courses in Hematology.

The scientific production of the Lymphoma Group comprises publications in print and online,  including over 600 published in international, peer-reviewed journals (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/?term=zinzani).
