Mondays for teaching

The Interdepartmental Commission for Medical Education (CIDAM), in view of the initiative promoted by ANVUR “Recognition and enhancement of the teaching skills of university lecturers” and the document “Student at the center” developed by the University Center for Teaching and Learning, has proposed to the Departments in the Area to support teachers with continuing education initiatives that provide clear references and practical tools for both course planning and the choice of teaching methods and learning assessment most suitable in relation to the credit load envisaged in the design phase of the Study Programs (CdS). This will not only allow for a more organized approach to work in line with the provisions of the CdS Regulations, but also a better focus on the student, monitoring their learning during lessons and gradually developing their level of autonomy. The latter aspect is particularly important for all health-related CdS programs, where the degree also constitutes a professional qualification.

The Teaching Mondays initiative falls within this scope: it involves training meetings every two months and is open to all DIMEC and DIBINEM teachers (senior, junior, newly hired, and subject experts) who are involved in teaching in various capacities: teaching, internships, tutoring, exam committees, etc.

The meetings (2 hours each) aim to provide continuous training for teachers, including through peer discussion. They begin with an introduction to a specific topic, presented by one or more speakers/moderators, followed by a round table discussion to share best practices on teaching planning and design, monitoring student learning, assessing the achievement of learning objectives, and reporting on teaching activities. At each meeting, participants (especially new hires) are provided with the essential elements of the Consolidated Law on Teaching Design and Planning and the main teaching applications in use at the university (attendance tracking, Almaregistri, Almaesami, etc.).

Participation in these meetings is then documented in the individual's personal training file.
