DIMEC is an international point of reference in all research areas, adopting a European vision for infrastructures already established or under development. The Department promotes an integrated, organized and innovative approach to biomedical and clinical research, with the aim of generating a significant impact on the economic, healthcare and social areas of the territory, becoming a model at the national level.
The objectives identified by the Department's Strategic Plan are supported by planning based on progressive tasks that are monitored annually.
In the Romagna Campuses, departmental research is currently focused mainly on clinical aspects, thanks to the recent establishment of university units within pre-existing hospital facilities intended for internship activities. This foundation represents a starting point for the development of further research lines, which will emerge with the consolidation of the educational and clinical activities currently underway.
