Diagnostic Medicine

The field of research in diagnostic medicine integrates fundamental disciplines such as medical genetics, pharmacology, microbiology, pathological anatomy, clinical psychology and diagnostic imaging. Activities are carried out in study centres, research groups and specialised laboratories, with a focus on innovative biomarkers, precision medicine, new imaging methods, artificial intelligence and translational studies. The aim is to improve early diagnosis, molecular characterisation of diseases and personalisation of therapeutic pathways, with a multidisciplinary approach ranging from oncology to rare diseases and clinical psychology applied to medicine.
