General Surgery and Surgical Specialties

The field of research in general surgery and specialist surgery focuses on the development of innovative techniques for diagnosis and surgical treatment in various areas, from oncological surgery to vascular, thoracic, urological and ophthalmological surgery. The activities, organised in Study and Research Centres, dedicated groups and laboratories, aim to improve clinical outcomes through multidisciplinary approaches, new technologies (such as 3D imaging and augmented reality) and advanced transplantation methods, with the aim of innovating clinical practice and enhancing translational research.

How research activities are organised

Dimec focuses its scientific research efforts in Research Study Centres (CSRs) established by resolution of the UNIBO Board of Directors. Research groups can carry out their research and study activities in the CSRs.
