Lipid and Cardiovascular Prevention Laboratory

The Lipidology and Cardiovascular Prevention Laboratory hosts a wide range of research projects focused on closely integrated topics related to both clinical practice and translational research.
In particular, the laboratory manages biological samples from epidemiological studies, such as the Brisighella Heart Study, from trials on diets, foods and dietary supplements, and from phase II-III registration clinical trials investigating the most innovative therapies for the treatment of familial and/or severe dyslipidemias, arterial hypertension, and hyperuricemia.

Research areas: Study of the epidemiological, clinical, laboratory and instrumental determinants of the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases related to atherosclerosis with particular reference to lipid fractions and lipoproteins.

Didactic activity: Practical and elective internships are carried out for Degree Theses in Medicine and Surgery, Nutrition sciences, Post-graduated school of Human nutrition, PhD dissertations.
