Public engagement

Our commitment to bringing scientific knowledge closer to citizens, supporting trust in research, promoting prevention and health awareness, and enhancing medical culture as a collective asset.

The initiatives promoted by DIMEC focus on training and information, research enhancement and scientific dissemination, creating synergies with healthcare facilities, local authorities, patient associations and schools. Together, we address issues that are important to individuals and communities, transferring research progress to civil society and promoting a strongly interdisciplinary approach.

Every year, the department promotes numerous activities open to the public: shows, conferences, urban trekking and meetings. These are opportunities designed to share research with the city, bring citizens closer to health and science issues and create spaces for dialogue between universities and communities.

  • Theater performances

The shows represent an innovative way of disseminating scientific knowledge, combining art, history, and medicine to engage a wide and diverse audience. Through theater and music, complex topics become accessible and stimulate reflection, dialogue, and participation, reinforcing the role of the university as a place of culture and civic engagement.

  • Outreach events

Conferences, round tables, exhibitions, and special events such as Researchers' Night provide opportunities to share research with the city. These initiatives bring citizens closer to health and science issues, creating spaces for discussion and dialogue between universities and communities.

  • Health and prevention

We collaborate with associations, institutions and patients to promote prevention, donation and healthy lifestyles. Workshops, campaigns and concrete projects that bring medicine closer to people's everyday lives.
