Internal Medicine and Specialties

The field of research in internal medicine and specialist medicine brings together a wide network of clinical and translational disciplines ranging from cardiology to gastroenterology, endocrinology to psychiatry, and nursing and applied sciences. The activity is divided into Study and Research Centers and dedicated groups, which address issues with a major impact on health, such as chronic degenerative diseases, tumors, infections, transplants, and metabolic disorders. Through multidisciplinary and innovative approaches, the research aims to integrate basic knowledge, clinical studies, and new technologies to improve prevention, diagnosis, and treatment, with a particular focus on personalized therapies and global health.

How research activities are organized

Dimec focuses its scientific research efforts in Research Study Centers (CSRs) established by resolution of the UNIBO Board of Directors. Research groups can carry out their research and study activities in the CSRs.
