Histology and congenital diseases

The study of the molecular alterations in various congenital diseases and in primary liver tumors, with particular interest in the prognostic and therapeutic aspects of hepatocarcinoma as well as in the morphological and functional changes that characterize the pathological processes themselves.

Research fields

Congenital diseases and primary liver tumors.

Research project

The study of the molecular pathways involved in the onset of congenital diseases, NASH, cirrhosis, and primary liver tumors.

 Research Aims

  1. To study the molecular mechanisms underlying the functional alterations responsible for congenital diseases.
  2. To identify new potential therapeutic targets to improve the survival and quality of life of patients with hepatocarcinoma.
  3. To identify biomarkers of drug treatment responses for hepatocarcinoma.
